Phalaropes fulicarous (Grey Phalerope). Svalbard.
Picture of a female Grey Phalerope. Grey Phalerope have reversed sex roles. It is the female that performs courtship display and participates most in territorial defense while the male incubates the eggs and rears the young. Females are consequently have a more colorful plumage.
